Upper west regional minister constitutes committee to investigate death of 2 year old boy who died of snake bite after alleged refusal of treatment due to folder issues.
The Upper West Regional Minister Dr Hafiz Bin Saalih has announced that he will constitute a committee to investigate the death of the 2 year old boy who died of snake bite due to an alleged negligence by workers of the regional Hospital.
He pledged that punitive action will be taken against persons found culpable in the death of the 2 year old pending the findings of the committee.
The minister also called on the media in the upper West Region to present one journalist to be part of the committee in other to play a watch dog role in the committee.
The minister made this announcement during the maiden edition of the district meet the press series in Nandom.

“..if it’s indeed true that it was out of negligence that the young guy lost his life punitive actions will be taken ”
The 2 year old boy Ibrahim Shalid died of snake bite after she was allegedly refused treatment at the upper West regional Hospital due to lack of folder when he was referred from the Boli Chps compound in the Wa municipality on Saturday leading to his death 4 hours later.
Hospital authorities when contacted by 3news.com on Sunday morning indicated they were not aware of the development and has since promised to investigate the matter.
Pending their internal investigation the regional minister Dr Hafiz Bin Saalih called for an independent probe into the matter and has since pledged to take punitive actions against persons found culpable pending the committee’s findings.
Meanwhile, the minister explained why the new upper West regional Hospital has been commissioned by the president and yet to be operational.
