The Ajumako/ Enyan/ Essiam Constituency branch of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) last Sunday held a Victory Health Walk, with a call on party supporters to trumpet the achievements of the government.
Addressing party supporters at Ajumako after the walk, District Chief Executive Ransford Kwesi Nyarko mentioned the Free Senior High School policy, restoration of teacher and nursing trainee allowances, the One district-One factory agenda, planting for food and jobs and the planting for export and rural development as some achievements of the government.
He added that the government has employed over 130 000 nurses and teachers since it assumed office three years ago.”Today businesses are growing because there is no more Dumsor”,he said.
The D.C.E appealed to Ghanaians to vote massively for the party come December general elections to push the nation forward.
Hon.Keneth Kwesi Obrempong,former D.C.E under ex president John Agyekum Kuffuor’s administration challenged the Member of Parliament,hon.Ato Forson to account for money he has collected as his common fund, adding, those funds are meant for the development of the entire Constituency and not for NDC supporters .
A former Parliamentory candidate of the party in Constituency,Festus Beedu Turkson wondered why ex president John Mahama who benefited from free education is critical of the free senior high school policy. “Mahama misled Ghanaians on road construction by claiming he had constructed all the roads in the country”,he said.
How can we still have bad roads when he said he has constructed them, he quizzed.
Mr .Turkson challenged the party’s communication officers to beef up their communication duties by informing the electorates about the achievements of the government. He also called for rejection of Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
On his part ,the Parliamentory candidate,Dr.Rashid Kwesi Etuaful asked the supporters to campaign for the party to enable it stay in office for another term.
Other Speakers included Mr.Robert Crentsil(Constituency can Chairman),Kweku Noah(Constituency Secretary) and Elisha Debra Odoom(first runner up in party’s Parliamentory primaries).
